Sambar

Moira Howie sent this email:

Dear Connie and Team,

We didn’t make your Open Day this year but hope it went well. It is with a broken heart I write to let you know about the happy life one of your dogs spent with us.

Eleven years ago we walked through your gates and you bought out Sambar. Simply the best Greyhound ever! She was an absolute joy and enriched our lives enormously. Sambar became a well-travelled dog: cars, trains, boats and even a helicopter – she took it all in her stride. She went to work with her Dad where she learnt to “meet and greet” customers. A role she continued on a part time basis at the National Trust up to month ago.

Last year at your Companion Dog Show she came 2nd in the pedigree veteran’s class but she was always a 1st to us. Like many greyhounds “owning” a sofa was the pinnacle of her career! She never complained but bone cancer was diagnosed following an x-ray for lameness and from there our girl just couldn’t get comfortable. We took  the heart-breaking decision today goodbye. On 17th of August the vet came to our house and she went to rainbow Bridge in her Dad’s arms.

Thank you to Sambar for sharing her life with us and to Pine Ridge for making this possible.”
